What Causes Redness On The Side Of Penile Head/foreskin After Oral Sex?

Hi. I had oral sex a couple of days ago and my penis became bright red and irritated. Most of it went away but on the side of the head of my penis and on the foreskin, it is red and looks like the skin or something peeled off. it is very sensitive to the touch and is extremely itchy from time to time. I believe it is from the friction that took place, my second thought is a possible yeast infection but I m not sure......

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I will keep your second possibility as my first i.e yeast Infection; itching and redness are part of yeats infection.
My second possibility is Irritant contact dermatitis probably to aggressive cleansing (soaps and antiseptics)
I would suggest that you apply an OTC topical plain antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for a week. However, a combination antifungal+steroid would work better and provide faster symptomatic relief.
An OTC oral antihistamine e,g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
If the condition does'nt seem to improve within a few days Or worsens you must visit a specialist for a review.

Regards
