What Causes Redness When Exposed To Sun?

My mother described a the following symptom to me last week...When she is out it the sun, everything turns blood red and she has to sit down, close her eye, and get to a shadded area quickly. The symptom started this summer. It s very scary and she also feels as if she may fall.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It may be solar urticaria. Consult the dermatologist and get proper treatment. Tell your mother to avoid sun exposure strictly. And to remain totally covered when she goes to outside. Whenever she gets attack of this disease, she may take antihistaminics like Fexofenadine with oral steroid in tapering dose for few days.

To prevent the disease she should avoid sun exposure.
