What Causes Retrochorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy?
dear sir,
my wife had underdond icsi treatment,
she is pregnant and she complete 9 weeks but recently 2 days before and still she has brown discharge . and it cintinues .we had admitted her to the hospital.even sonograhy had done it shows minimal retrochronic bleeding. sir is there to worry pls suggest.
Retrochorionic bleeding is bleeding between the chorionic tissue and the uterus; i.e. between the embryonic attachment and the uterus. Such bleeding naturally separates the chorionic tissue from the uterus and thus the embryonic nutrition is jeopardized. The fact that it has leaked out of vagina means the bleeding though seen as minimal in sonography has been more which has escaped out. It further means that more chorionic tissue damaged. The bleeding she had was brown bleeding which means it was a stale blood. This is not a good sign and suggests that the embryo is more likely to be non-living. Was any cardiac activity of the baby seen? We call such condition as missed abortion. Such condition demands termination of pregnancy. Of course the obstetrician will confirm about the viability of the baby and will take decision. The urine pregnancy test in such cases is not always reliable as it takes about a week's time minimum for the pregnancy test to become negative after the baby has become non-living.
