I am a healthy 74 year old woman with ugly fingernails that have ridges and split downward, then bread or split in half. This has been going on for years. I have seen a nail specialist who says I have dry nails and offered me an RX that cost almost $300.00. I do not have any diseases other than osteoporosis. Any ideas.
