What Causes Right Lower Quadrant Pain With Puss Cells In Urine?
greetings. I'm a female, and has been experiencing right lower quadrant pain for 3 months now. Pus cells in my urine are not clearing out even when I was already given 5 different antibiotics until I went to a nephrologist who said that I might be having uric acid stones. Thing is, my uric acid is normal as per lab test. My calcium level however, is the one higher but still within the normal range. I am just confused because what could possibly be causing this illness: pus cells in urine + right lower quadrant pain but now I feel it more around the level of my abdomen + gas pains?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per my clinical experience, this does not sound to be gas pain. It is due to underlying uncontrolled infection with or without calculus in the urinary system. I recommend to undertake a prescription of urine culture, CT scan of abdomen & pelvis and consult with the report.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
