What Causes Right-sided Ear Pain While I Burp Or Have Hiccups?
The past day or two i ve had right ear pain any time i burp or hiccup. Why is this happening? Some other information (i m not sure if it s relevant or not) would be I just got over a sore throat, I wheeze when i breathe, and i have chest pain when i cough
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of pain in the right ear on burping or on having hiccoughs, just got over sore throat, there is wheezing when you breathing and chest pain on coughing. Your short but specific history is self-explanatory. Due to sore throat there is an inflammation of the whole respiratory tract including the Eustachian tube on the right side which gets spatulas hence allowing the air to push through it on burping, hiccoughs and on yawing too. I would advise you the following: Decongestant nasal drops and orally medications. Anti-inflammatory Antibiotic Steam inhalation. PPI like Omeprazole. To avoid burping and such things that cause positive air pressure to develop in the naso-pharyneal area. Take rest if required. Consult an ENT Surgeon so that clinical evaluation and examination including any investigations be done to get a proper management.
