What Causes Right Sided Pain Over The Hip With A Lump On It?

hi. i m 48 years old, and a little over 2 hours ago i noticed a pain on my right side, just over my hip. i pressed on it and over the next 1/2 hour or so the pain spread out a little until i noticed that it was right where the appendix is. i ve never had a problem with my appendix before. anyway, i looked up the symptoms for appendecitis and i have none of them besides the pain. NO pain in middle of abdomen either. then i just looked in the mirror and stretched the skin out that is around the spot that is so tender, and it looks like, and feels like a lump - i d say about two inches long and 1 inch wide. what do you think?

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I went through the history you have provided here. It seems from the history that you are having pain over the hip with a lump on it.
These symptoms does not indicate appendicits, hence no need to worry about it.
These symptoms indicate a probable abscess or a furuncle of infectious in origin.
This requires treatment by the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
If there is a abscess then incision and drainage needs to be considered.
Do consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Do write back to me for further questions.
Wishing you a good health.

Thank you
