What Causes Ringing In The Ears After Listening To Loud Music?

Eight days ago I listened to head phones while mowing the lawn. I turned the music on very loud to hear it over the mower. I listened for maybe an hour or two before I discarded the headphones. (In retrospect, I realize I should have used earplugs to eliminate noise, not make it worse.)Since then, ever night I have a beeping in my right ear. Today it went on for the first few hours of the day. I cannot go to sleep without turning on some crickets to drown it out. Over the past 10 years, I ve been sleeping with earplugs (barking neighborhood dogs), but since the noise is in my head, i cannot use the earplugs because then i can t hear the crickets. So even once I get to sleep, everything little noise is waking me up. Will this go away (please say yes)?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

It's a known fact that and widely advised that not to listen to high volumes for a long time. Now, with your symptoms,I feel what you might have got is Noise induced sensory neural loss, which means, the hearing nerves are starting to get weaker. It may be temporarily disturbing at times, but it's mandatory to get an Audiogram done. Pls don't postpone .Because, certain things can be reversed,if the treatment is started early
