Hi I went to the doctor yesterday because I ve had a cough and flem on my chest now for about 7 weeks kept thinking it would go away I ve had the same problem quite a few times before but always gone away after about 2 weeks but my hearing went bad about 8 days ago anyway the doctor said I ve got an infection and asked if I had a ringing noise I said no and couldn t remember what sound I could hear until I got home and heard it again but is this normal and what is the cause of the creaking thanks kathleen
The noise in your ear could be related to a blockage of the inner eardrainage (which lays in the nose). A sinus infection could mimic this situation too.
For this reason, I recommend performing a sinus X ray study and also checking allergy tests. In the meantime, I would recommend using nasal decongestant drops.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr. Ilir Sharka
