AST or Asperate Aminotransferase and ALT or Alanine Transaminase are the enzymes which denote Liver function. Serum AST level, serum ALT level, and their ratio (AST/ALT ratio) are commonly measured clinically as biomarkers for liver health. The tests are part of blood panels. Normally ALT is < 24 IU/L and AST is 6 - 34 IU/L in females. They denote liver cell health. It is better that you take your Physician's advice on these findings.
