What Causes Roughness In The Penis After Sexual Intercourse?

I was messing around with my boyfriend and he told me that the inside of my lady bits toward the top felt rough..? I felt for myself and it was rough, like ridges. It felt like it had been slit there a few dozen times (it doesn t hurt, just to the touch it feels cut). Is this normal?
