Hi Im having a problem with salty mouth. The saliva I'm secreting taste literally like salt water and it has made my tongue dry and astringent as a result. When I gargle my mouth with water, it comes out like salt water. I'm certain it's not 'phantom taste' as the presence of salt is clear. Thank you.
I have gone through your query regarding salty taste in mouth. In this connection I would like to say that salty taste is the taste of infected discharge. So whenever there is either of these we get this symptom-
(a) Sialoadenitis of submandibular or parotid gland.
(d) Ludwig's angina (inflammation floor of mouth).
(e) Carius tooth with root pathology (grannulations and abscess).
So I would like to suggest you to consult your ENT doctor to rule out above possibility by thorough clinical examination, investigations and finally manage.
Regards.
