What Causes Scalp Dissecting Cellulitis?

I think my son has scalp dissecting cellulitus it looks like big blisters and he is loosing patches of hair around them a Doctor we saw said it was out of his scope of practice and he needs a biopsy. how do they do a biopsy and what do u think is wrong with my sons head? also my husband has a rare form of lupus.

I really appreciate your concern, looking to the history given here I could say that your son must be having some fungal infection, taking the biopsy is depends upon the gross appearance of the lesion and over all clinical condition and the skill of surgeon for this you need to have a word with the surgeon, take care and have a nice day.
