What Causes Scaly Ring Like Formation Around The Growing Wart?
Yes my son has a wart on his side, last week it started getting larger now has a ring of red around it it looks like there is a small crusty white pin size crust on top side of it ,its very tender to touch and even clothes hurt it it feels like there is a hardness under skin n wart now looks more like a blister. What could be the problem.
Hi. As per your case history your son is probably having secondary bacterial infection on wart. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain for 5 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Once infection is cleared you can go for cryotherapy or cauterization for wart.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
