What Causes Scratchy Sound In Ears After Getting Hit On Head?
Hi Doc. I am worried! My 7 year old Son was accidently hit hard with a Baseball Bat today at round about 15:00 just behind die left ear at the side of his head. He was in Shock had a lot of Pain but no other signs of a Concussion yet. I ve put some ice on, gave him Nurofen then and now at 19:30 and put some Arnica Gel on then and now. He fell asleep at 20:00. He is only complaining of some kind of scratchy sound he hear in his ear when turning his head from side to side- The sound is there, but comes and goes. It s not there all the time. Does he need a CT Scan and do i need to take him to a Ear Specialist? Like i ve said, i m SO worried. :-(
hello, thanks for your query, post trauma, ringing sound should be evaluated with an ent surgeon. it could be simple or complicated with ear drum perforation or ossicular distruprion( bones connecting inner ear). hope I have answered your query. all the best. take care.
