What Causes Severe Anxiety And Depression While On Lexapro?

Hi I m concerned for my partner that he is on Lexapro for 2 years now and as of the last few days it s like his meds are not working and he s severely depressed crYing uncontrollably want to sleep and wants to crawl under a rock he has severe anxiety that will not shut his mind off but for the last year and 8 months he was normal what do I do

Lexapro (escitalopram) is an antidepressant. Usually it doesn't induce anxiety rather relives it. The return of depressive symptoms and anxiety may indicate resistance to escitalopram or it may suggest towards medication non-compliance.
If you are sure that your partner is compliant to medication intake, then I would advice you a consultation with your doctor about prescription changes. Either the dose of escitalopram should be increased or medication should be changed.
