What Causes Severe Breathlessness In A Heart Attack Survivor?
my friend is in stage 4 heart failure. I noticed yesterday as he walked up a slight incline carrying a small cat. he was totally out of breath. a cold look on his face as he tried to breath. he has had about 4 heart attacks. it has been about6 months since a doctor told him his lower left ventical was no longer working . he has breathing attacks at night. very light headed.to day he was walking to car as fast as could because it was raining when he got into my cay he almost could not breathe. I am just wondering how long can he live. will his right ventical go as well?
I just went through the details provided by you of your friend, I can very well understand what your friend is going through. As 4th stage is the last stage of Heart Failure and medicines can barely give any relief to the patient. In this stage Heart transplant is the only final treatment but unfortunately very few patients qualifies the criteria and even few can afford the cost. It's unfortunate but Yes the prognosis is poor for the patient with less life time. Muscle mass of LV is lot more as compared to RIGHT VENTRICLE so when LV fails Rv also losses its functionality over a period of time and above all RV can't be a substitute to LV function.
May GOD Bless
