What Causes Severe Constipation With Mild Cramps During Pregnancy?

I am 8 weeks pregnant and dealing with serious constipation. I have been taking colace stool softeners for a week with no relief. Today it go so bad I could barely sit down. I decided to use a saline enema. I only used 1/4 of the bottle and it got the part that was making it hard to sit down out. Will my baby be affected? I know using these in the first trimester causes miscarriages but I felt I had no other choice. I am getting some mild cramps now. Should I be concerned?

hi,constipation is a very common thing in early pregnancy.you will have to make some lifestyle changes like drink minimum 12 glasses of water,eat more of green leafy vegetables,have min 2 fruits a day.you can take 2 tablet of dulcolax stat and then syrup cremaffin 2 tsf at bedtime daily.yes if contractions occur in early pregnancy its a matter of concern.it can even cause miscarriage.so its very important to prevent constipation.take care and all the best.
