What Causes Severe Cough And Vomiting In 2 Year Old?
my 2 year old son has been coughing alot for the last month and has vomited with it. He is asleep now but is making funny gasping noises . Last week the doctor said his chest was clear. What should I do. I intend to sleep with him tonight just to watch over him
One month of coughing is a very long time to have continuous coughing in a child of 2 months. The commonest causes I can think about are allergy, asthma, some lung problem or even a heart problem causing congestion in chest. Vomiting is common in pediatric age group with anything like coughing as secondary effect. Hence, I would advise him to be seen by a pediatrician for clinical examination and insist for X-ray or CT scan of chest. Get the relevant tests of blood. All this will give the exact diagnosis and thus allow a specific treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
