What Causes Severe Coughing Up Of Colorless Phlegm?

Everytime I cough I feel like I m going to get sick. My cough keeps me up till (or later than) 3-4am and start coughing visciously. Eventually, I cough up nasty colourless phlegm.I drink lots of water aswell and sometimes hear strange purring noises from my chest/throat. Please help!

Hi,

Noted your history of vicious coughing which continues up to 3 am, comes up with colorless nasty phlegm, drinks lots of water, hear strange purring noses from chest and throat.
All your history is indicative of excessive mucus production, the inspissated mucus causes the noises as the air passing through such obstructions cause turbulence and noises.
The body tries to expel mucus thereby causing excessive coughing.
I would advise you the following:
Consult your Doctor for proper clinical examination, auscultation of chest and get investigations like tests of blood.
X-ray of chest.
Tests of phlegm.
All these will give a proper diagnosis and thus allow proper management.
Take steam inhalation.
Avoid fumes and pollution.
