What Causes Severe Diarrhea , Joint Pain And Fever After An Abortion?

Hi, I had an abortion last month. Three weeks back I started with my periods. I then got sick, I had fever, diarrhea and joint pains. The Doctor gave me medication. My periods haven t stopped till then. I have a heavy flow and severe period pains. I am scared to go to the Doctor again as I have been there two times already. Could this be serious? or is it normal?

Noted your history and understood your concerns.
History of abortion followed by periods, fever, diarrhea and joint pains, period pains and 2 visits to the Doctor.
This is serious in face of complexity of the symptoms and severity. Joint pains with diarrhea can be a dangerous thing as it indicates possible bacterimia or toxemia and needs a proper clinical evaluation, investigations like blood routine and culture and sensitivity.
Tests of stool and urine.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen to see for the bleeding uterus, clots or retained products and for the intestinal symptoms.
Colonoscopy of required.
A course of an antibiotic and supportive medicines.
