Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I injured my neck in a workout class by raising weights over my head while laying on floor face up. It felt like a muscle spasm in my neck then went up into the back of my head and went into severe head spinning. No neck pain but stiff neck and dizziness a lot. Can’t lay on the floor after 6 months because i get extremely dizzy! No doctors can seem to diagnose this. Also hard to concentrate at times.
You may be suffering from cervical vertigo due to:
1. Compression of vertebral arteries.
2. Altered sensory input from neck proprioceptors. So good head posturing, check for any brain or vertebral body injuries or vascular compromise. Use tablet Vertin thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
