What Causes Severe Dizziness And Lightheadedness After Taking 500 Mg Amoxicillin?

Are 500mg amoxicillin capsules strong? I recently started a course of them after having breathing problems for almost a month and my doctor concluding that it is a chest infection. However when I took my first pill after maybe an two hours I felt really light headed and I fainted. Is this normal? Should I stop the pills? (I have to take 3 a day.)

Hi thank you for posting your query in HCM. I understand your concerns.
My opinion is that you not be worried much about this as intake of
amoxicillin, feeling light headed and fainting is the side effect seen in few patients. It will subside slowly. If fainting occurs each time after taking tablet, then it needs a medical supervision. Hope i have answered your question if you have further questions i will be happy to help.
