What Causes Severe Dizziness Despite Taking Dramamine While Having High BP?
I took my blood pressure Rx this morning and went to the dentist. During my visit I had a shot of novocaine to fill a tooth. My heart started racing and I felt like the room was spinning. I stood up afterwards and passed out for only a few seconds. The dentist took my blood pressure and it was 189/120. He took it several time with different machines and I rec d a different reading each time, but it was still very high. I drank orange juice and took a dramamine table I had in my purse for travel. All day I ve been dizzy and light headed. If I lay down I feel like the room is spinning. I just took my blood pressure again and it s 143/83 with a pulse of 70. Not sure if I should go to the ER or ride it out. I am flying tomorrow. what advice do you have?
Thank you for trusting HCM Dear what about your blood pressure before consulting your dentist, after giving novocaine how much time you developed those symptoms?? In my point of view you may having novocaine allergy which may cause chest pain, palpitations, breathing difficulty etc.. . Next time onwards don't use novocaine. Use tab. Vertin 16mg thrice a day. I think I answered to your question. If your dizziness caused by hypertension you need to take anti hypertensives so..... Still those symptoms persist please consult your doctor.
