What Causes Severe Dizziness, Nausea And Headache After Waking?
Hi. I woke was awoken this morning at 6am to the room spinning faster than anything I’ve every experienced. My eyes were rolling around as I couldn’t gain focus. It made me very sweaty and I felt a little nauseous, unsure if this was because I was worried as I didn’t know what was happening to me. I’ve never had anything like this before. I managed to go back to sleep for a little while after I’d calmed down and during that sleep I remember rolling over and the dizzy sensation came back briefly but not as bad. Now I’m up, my head feels very funny and I have a headache. What could this be please? I’m so worried!! Thankyou!
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think you may developed acute episode of vertigo it may be due to BPPV or Acute vestibular neurinitis or labyrinthitis or TIA or hypotension etc..
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please check your blood pressure, check blood sugar, check cardiac status with ECG.
Use tablet vertin 16 mg thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your neurophysician/ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
