What Causes Severe Dryness And Cramps In The Tongue?

Hi Doc- What causes ones mid tongue to feel tight and crampy like a dull but consistent Charlie horse(typically felt in legs though) and tongue to feel extremely dry and almost like a ones feeling the dried leather scaly surface of a foreign object in ones mouth?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms are indicating towards a severe dry mouth and it can be a cause for the symptoms that is dryness in mouth along with leathery feeling and feeling of foreign object in mouth..
So my suggestion to first get your dry mouth treatment and also get checked for any white coating on tongue that can be due to fungal Infection and can give you a similar feeling of having leathery surface and foreign body..
Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated.

For now start chewing sugar free chewing gum, gargle with specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash, use mouth lubricant like oral gel, drink plenty of water, eat more of probiotics like Yogurt and keep the tongue clean..
