What Causes Severe Headache After Taking Epipen Tablet?
I had an anaphylactic reaction to allergy shots on Monday. My Allergy Dr. gave me 2 epipens to bring me out of it. It s Saturday now and I still have a headache since then and get tired easily. Do I need to see a Dr. or is this normal? Could it be an overdose?
Hi & Welcome. It appears to be due to high blood pressure. The recommended dose of Epi-Pen for adults is 0.3 mg/injection. Since you were given an extra dose which could be responsible for your severe headache. The most common side effects of Epi-Pen (Epinephrine auto-injector) are high blood pressure causing severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain, shortness of breath, uneven heartbeats, or seizure). You are advised to see your treating doctor for further evaluation. Hope this will help you.
