What Causes Severe Headache While Lifting Weights?
I keep getting these exertion headaches from lifting weights. I have been back lifting weights for the last 2-1/2 months without a problem until last week and I started getting these horrible headaches. I had this before a few years ago and they went away. I also just checked my blood pressure which is always normal and it was 140 over 68 and a few minutes later it was 127 over 71. Is this a bad thing?
The changes in your blood pressure and the headaches you describe after having lifted heavy weights could signal vascular anomalies or problems in the neck or the back of the head through most of the time there is no anatomically to worry about.
My recommendation is that you see a neurologist with a cerebrovascular specialization or interest in order to rule in or out such an entity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
