What Causes Severe Itchiness All Over The Body After Taking Oxymorphone 30 Mg?

Is oxycotin and oxymorphone basically the same medicine? I am taking oxymorphone 30mg twice daily, but seem to be having a mild allergic reaction, ie itching, then after a couple of days the itching will stop. I have discussed oxycotin with my pain magt. Dr. etc. I just want t be sure I ll get the same relief from horrible pain with oxycotin as I do with oxymorphone.

Hi
I can understand your concern.
Itching or rash is an important side effect of Oxymorphone.
However, it is mild in nature. But you must visit your doctor if you develop severe reaction in the form of swelling of the lips, eyes or difficulty in breathing.
From the efficacy point of view i.e., relief of pain both are equally effective in reducing the pain.
Hope this answers your query.
