What Causes Severe Itchiness In The Eyes And Ears?
I have itchy eyes, eyebrows scalp, ears........ Ophthalmologist prescribed FML with the assurance that it would fix my problem.......to no avail. Have tried all eye drops. Can t stop rubbing my eyes, then start sneezing.......desperate for a cure / relief.
your symptoms match those of seborrhic dermatitis which is due to a low grade inflammation in the areas that you mentioned. In some people other hairy areas of the body may get involved. From my long experience, I can speculate that probably the scales from eyebrows are falling down onto the eyes and irritating your eyes. what you need to do is to control the flakiness which is not that difficult. you may use some good shampoo for scalp while for eyebrows and face you may use a mild steroid preparation like hydrocortisone or clobetasone. This should ensure removal of flakes and almost immediate relief to eyes and rubbing that you have to resort to. Sneezing may or may not be due to this cause but use of anti allergics like cetirizine will be safe as this will relieve sneezing, itchiness as well reduce discomfort. Let me know how do you feel after starting the treatment on suggested lines.
