What Causes Severe Itchiness In The Labia Majora?

I noticed that my left labia majora on the inside was itching. It woke me out of sleep a few times. I went to the bathroom and used a mirror to see it and there were little bumps. The next day the itching wasn t as frequent or noticeable. They are still there. I haven t had sex in about a week and I use a vagina soap when I shower (every other day). I don t know what could have caused this.
