Hello, Thanks for writing to HCm , I am Dr Saleha Saeed and I will try to help you in this matter. The way you have described your symptoms , it is usually stomach acidity and upset which gives off such symptoms, when there is acid in stomach or regurge, the acid irritates the throats so throat gets inflammed and dry cough or sputum can be there continuously. If you have been having such stomach issues in the past then it seems to be the prime suspect, I will suggest you to visit a pulmonologist (a doctor who is specialized in lungs) if he rules out any infection or other lung issues then stomach seems to be the main cause. Till then you should take some measures to coup up with stomach problems like you can avoid coffee fizzy drinks and you can use use an antacid to calm dwn your stomach acid. Controlling stomach acid will gradually improve your symptoms in a couple of weeks.
I hope this answered your question. If you have more I am happy to answer.
