I am on the medication Hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure. I have only been on the medication for 4 weeks and I have developed severe itching sensations all over my lower back, hands, feet and back of neck. My medication bottle said to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun...I live in a state that has 20 hours of sunlight in the summer months. I called my dr. and she said that I might be allergic to sulfa sp? She told me to stop taking the Hydrochlorothiazide and still a week later I am still itching and scratching. How log does it take for Hydrochlorothiazide to get out of your body.
