I have a puzzling situation....I rent out a house in Brooklyn, NY and one of my tenants states he is experiencing itching for several weeks, but noone else in the house is having those symptoms.....noone sees any evidence of bugs, and he has moved out and now says he has given it to his mother.....he states that two dermatologists told him he was delusional.......I am concerned for my other tenants in the house Could this be some sort of mites? I can understand your concern for the itching. In my opinion it appears to scabies or allergic contact dermatitis. In both these condition there are eruptions along with moderate itching and in more aggravated cases there is appearance of more redness but in scabies there is typically night itching is present.
If I were your treating dermatologist then would have suggested to apply Permethrin 5% cream and hydrocortisone cream and can take by mouth the antihistamine benadryl.
Check for the same type of itching in other surrounding members and suggest the same treatment. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
All the best.
