What Causes Severe Joint Pain?

My mother(age 58, diabetic) is admitted in the hospital in india with high fever, headache,vomitting and severe jointpain(as if the joints have been locked).Her blood tests were negative for Chikunguynya,Dengue,malaria and typhoid. They are currently testing her for Rat fever. What other could be the reason for this severe joints pain?

1. Viral infections commonly present with severe joint, specifically dengue, chickangunya etc.
2. Additionally certain autoimmune disorders can cause arthritis, specifically rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis etc.
3. An immunological workup and a biopsy of joint is necessary to identify possible cause.
4. Headache and vomiting also additionally requires CSF evaluation. More details of lab reports necessary for further opinion.
