What Causes Severe Loose Stools In A Child After Taking Clarithromycin?
Hi, my 4-year old child is taking clarithromycin suspension due to respiratory infection. He started his first dose yesterday and had 2nd dose today but he is having loose bowel and its really watery but only defecated once for today. I am worried if i should discontinue it since its a watery stool and i am concern of gastro problem. Your answer would be well appreciated. Thank u.

Clarithromycin can cause GI disturbances so you should let his doctor know about this to see if he wants to switch to a different antibiotic
