What Causes Severe Nose Bleeds In An Elderly Person?
Hi, i am a 73 yr old Caucasian male in good health. I have been having nose bleeds for over 3 month off and on. I do have a slightly infected top front tooth that i can feel a little throbbing at times. Could this tooth be the problem of my nose bleeds?
Infection of tooth do not cause nose bleeds. There are several causes for recurrent nose bleed .Some of them include dry nasal mucosa, Hypertension, problems with blood clotting, medications that increase bleeding risk like aspirin, warfarin etc Further evaluation and blood work up is needed at this point. Please consult a Primary care provider for further management.
Hope I was able to answer your question Please address any more concerns Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
