What Causes Severe Pain At Top Of Leg After Gall Bladder Removal?

I am 11 days post op from gall bladder removal. I am having severe pain at the top of my left leg. Could this be a blood clot? Putting pressure on the area does seem to relieve the pain. I am a 61 year old female with a history of hypertension and am a smoker. I was also hospitalized for a week with pylenophretitis with the surgery done one week after discharge.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

Well this could be blood clot and you should do doppler ultrasound to rule this out since after surgical procedures, there may be higher risk of cloting disorders so it should be evaluated more detailed. It may also be septic embolus if you had pylonephritis so investigation is definitely required.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
