What Causes Severe Pain Even After The Injury Has Healed?

I cut the side of my foot pretty badly (a ceramic plate fell on it). It's taking quite a while to heal (3 days already) but the bleeding & weeping has stopped and the swellings gone down. Although there is still a bruise around the cut. The worry is that I've developed a dull ache at the top of my thigh (near the glands) on the same leg as the cut foot and on the same side (same line) as the cut. The pain seems to get worse, travelling down my leg towards my knee. My leg is not swollen or cold or abnormal colour. There is just this pain when I touch the area and as soon as I get up from an idle position. Please can you tell me what you think the pain is...could it be referred pain or something more serious like a blood clot?
