What Causes Severe Pain In The Joints?

Never done this before, so I m not sure what to expect. I have used the symptom checker before and found it helpful, but it seems to have changed so I couldn t input everything I wanted to. I have been having severe pain in my joints for several months - wrists, ankles and hips mostly. Sometimes my knees and shoulders as well. I do have diagnosed osteopenia from a year or so ago. I am not on any medication with the exception of an OTC calcium and vitamin supplement. I am also experiencing some swelling in my ankles. I also have MS, but I am not on any DMT medications. I have migraines for which I take Gabapentin and Topiramate. I am also on Amlodipine for high BP, and Synthroid for Hashimoto s Hypothyroidism. I have mild stress and exercise induce asthma and I use a Pro-Air inhaler PRN.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Severe pain in different joints can be related to arthritis or low levels of calcium or vitamin D3. Proper supplements and a few blood tests will help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
