Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My aging mother is waking up about 9 times per night with pain in her legs. I am guessing she has PAD. She does not smoke, is fat or listless. What can she do to ease her pain? She does get up and ride her stationary bike, but she is exausted and will not go to the hospital or get surgery in her arteries. Yvonne PS DO NOT USE OR SELL MY E-MAIL ADDRESS!
Hello, We really cannot give you an answer without examining her. She needs to see a doctor for an exam and some testing. It does not sound like PAD. That usually causes pain after exercising, not while sleeping. She could have neuropathy or restless leg syndrome or cramping. Please try to get her to see a doctor so that she can get a diagnosis and proper treatment. Regards
