What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper Chest Region?

I am having pain in upper chest on inspiration A week ago I hit a vessel in my lower left leg and lost a lot of blood (saturated three wash cloths,puddles on floor,finally stopped by knotting a towel around leg). As this happened at hs I went to bed and all seemed okay since.

I can understand your concern.
Since you are having recent history of large amount of blood loss, anemia can be the cause for your left sided chest pain.
Anemia causes tachycardia (rapid heart rate). This is due to strain on heart due to loss of blood.
So better to get done hemoglobin estimation and if this is low then you may need supplements in the form of either oral tablets or blood transfusion, depending on your deficiency.
If hemoglobin estimation is normal than no need to worry much. Your pain is mostly due to musculoskeletal pain. So take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
