What Causes Severe Shoulder Pain After Taking 100 Mcg Synthroid?

I have had pain in both shoulders for 3 months and it becomes acute with certain movements. I am being treated for hypothyroidism with 100 mcgm synthroid. Ibuprofen will mask the pain, but it does not seem to be diminishing with time. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Thanks for asking a question at Healthcaremagic

I don't think synthyroid can cause shoulder pain.

It can be due to other conditions

You need to be examined and evaluated by an orthopaedic doctor

You may need xray of both shoulder joints.

Based on the diagnosis, the doctor will treat you

Don't take Ibuprofen often, it may affect your kidney.

Rather know the cause of pain, get treated for it.

Hope this helps!

Best Regards
Dr Chaithanya
