What Causes Severe Sore Throat And Swollen Tonsils With White Spots?

Hi, I am wondering if I need to call a doctor tomorrow. I woke up this morning with a severe sore throat and it s gotten worse throughout the day. I just looked in my throat with a flashlight and my tonsils are pretty swollen with white spots but there are also dark spots on them too. Is this more than strep throat? I ve never had strep throat. I have no fever either.

Welcome to healthcare magic...
Nothing to worry...this is most commonly seen condition...we call it as follicular tonsillitis..the white spots what you are describing are follicles that is pus...I recommend a course of antibiotics for 5 days and analgesics for pain relief...avoid refrigerated foods as they aggregate this condition...hope I have answered my ur question...if any further questionsyou can always ask on HCM...We are happy to help...
