What Causes Severe Tightness In The Achilles Tendon?
I have severe tightness in my achilles tendon first thing in the morning or anytime I have not moved in a while. I have read that calf raises are good to loosen tight calf muscles is a good treatment. I run and do not have any tightnes as long as I am moving but do have varying degree of pain in the back of heel about an inch to inch and half up from sole of foot after finishing run. What do you recommend as course of treatment.
Massaging the tonic muscle with your hands or oil Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle. Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
