What Causes Severe Urethral Burning?

I have severe urethral burning! I have been referred to a urologist for suspicion of IC by my primary care doctor but am on a long waitlist for an appt. The pain is so bad I can hardly move from fetal position. I have been taking OTC urinary pain relief pills is there anything else I can do?

hello
i understand your concern. Most common cause of urethral burning is urinary tract infection. you can confirm the infection by routine blood and urinary test. once it is confirmed about urinary tract infection, it can be treated by antibiotics. commonly used antibiotic is norfloxacin tablet. But before taking the drug consult a doctor to diagnosis the infection. also you are taking pill for pain. pain relieving pill can not helpful in this case. so stop taking the pain killer and take advice of doctor to relieve from the condition
take excessive amount of water which also can be helpful in this case
thanks.
