What Causes Severe Vaginal Pain During Sexual Intercourse?

I am 23 year old girl. My boyfriend and I recently decided to have sex but we have been having some trouble. I was a virgin so when we tried it, it hurt very bad. But even after a few tries it hurts a lot and we havent been able to move past just inserting the penis as the pain is like a slight burn. Is it something i should b worrying about?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. During the very first sexual intercourse, the hymen ruptures and this is the usual cause of the pain and burning sensation and sometimes spotting/bleeding. Once this tear heals, intercourse becomes easier. If you have not given any rest to the part, healing is delayed and leads to persistent pain, scarring and difficult intercourse. In the current scenario, you need a local examination to detect the cause and plan appropriate management. Hope this helps.
