What Causes Severe Vomiting After Eating?

My boyfriend is 61 and vomits at least once a day particularly after a meal. He has had gerd in the past. He says there is a general pain around his belly button- he is being stubborn about getting medical attention. This has been going on 3 weeks and he has an appointment in 18 days. I think he needs attention sooner.

Welcome to HCM: Constipation and bowel obstruction will cause this vomiting and nausea. Please note that if one has slow transit of food in the bowels, then they will also get this nausea and vomiting. If he cannot keep food down, I am not sure waiting for 18 days is wise, he at least needs to have and Xray of his stomach to preliminarily make sure that nothing serious is going on.
