Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is 78 and has gotten progressively worse in that when she stands and walks she wobbles really badly and them sometimes just falls to the ground as if she just sits down. She has been to a neurologist and has had all kinds of testing with no diagnoses. Any suggestions?
Hi, Looking at the history, the shaking of legs, particularly when standing and wobbles during walk appears to be due to weak legs. She needs to strengthen her lower limb muscles.
She can try the following: 1. Resistance training and progressively with mild weight training for lower limbs 2. Walking or standing with help of cane (four legged) 3. Nutritional improvement (particularly vit B12, iron and proteins) 4. Weight reduction.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
