What Causes Shallowness In Lungs And Septicemia?

My sister has been told that she has a shadow on the lung and septicemia and they have put her on steroids and running more tests. Have read a little bit about this and wondering whether drink would play a factor in this? She does like to drink socially quite a bit, but she is only 38. Just a bit worried for her!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, alcohol habit can cause these symptoms.
Alcohol intake actually reduces immunity.
So person who drinks alcohol is at higher risk of infections.
This person is also at risk of uncommon and drug resistant infections.
So shadows in her lungs are mostly due to bilateral severe pneumonia which is causing septicemia.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your sister. Thanks.
